  Pool Exercise

Getting in the water helped me more than any other single type of exercise, especially in the beginning when I could barely move.  Floating felt absolutely incredible.  I sometimes had a physical therapist to work me 1:1 in the pool and as I got better I joined a water aerobics class.

I noticed that the pool bottom was rough on my feet - and that it was hard to be walking in water without shoes.  I bought some great water aerobics shoes from Speedo and they helped to support my arches and absorb shock.

In the Seattle area, the Pro Sports club in Redmond and the Bellevue Aquatic Center both have warm pools set up for physical therapy.  I've also heard that the YMCA in many communities has a great rehab water aerobics class

I have no relationship with the exercises and therapies I describe and created this site purely to inspire others to go take control of their own back care and to provide some ideas of treatments to discuss with your doctor.  If you find this website useful, please add a link to it from your website or blog.
