Once I got better at sitting, I started to enjoy using a stationary bicycle to help build muscle in my legs. It gave me a way to continue working out when I still had energy, but my muscles had become too fatigued to hold a correct standing posture on the treadmill or elliptical machine.
I found that it was difficult to get my heart rate up very high while using the Stationary Bike (heart rate was important to me because I was so out of shape from being in bed for so long) so I started doing arm exercises while on the bicycle! The arm exercises really helped to get my heart rate up!
