Effexor is a muscle relaxant that is also used as an anti-depressant. When
I was suffering with the worst of my back pain, both were good things!
Effexor really helped my muscles feel less tensed, and helped get rid of
some of the muscle spasms without putting me in a stupor. I was
also very happy when I was taking Effexor. Friends would call on the phone and say "how are you doing" and I would say
"well I can only walk 10 feet at a time, but I'm having so much fun watching
TV!" -- quite a change from the weeks before.
